Privacy Policy for PrayerPoint App

**Last Updated: Jul 23, 2025**

EXAQ Services LLC ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the PrayerPoint mobile application ("PrayerPoint" or the "App"). PrayerPoint is designed to help users create and manage personal prayer points without collecting or storing personal data on our servers. This policy complies with applicable privacy laws, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada, the Privacy Act 1988 in Australia, and Apple’s App Store privacy requirements.

By using PrayerPoint, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

---

## 1. Information We Do Not Collect

PrayerPoint **does not collect, store, or transmit personal data** to our servers or any third-party servers. The App is designed to operate locally on your device, and we do not solicit or gather any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or other identifiers.

---

## 2. Data Storage and Use on Your Device

PrayerPoint uses the following technologies to store data locally on your device for functionality and persistence:

### a. UserDefaults

- **Purpose**: PrayerPoint uses `UserDefaults`, a standard iOS feature, to store user-entered data (e.g., prayer points, speech settings, and preferences) locally on your device.

- **Data Stored**: Text you input for prayer points, speech rate, preferred language, preferred voice identifier, and other settings.

- **Access**: This data is stored securely on your device and is only accessible to the App. It is not transmitted to us or any third party.

- **Retention**: Data persists on your device until you manually delete it or uninstall the App. Uninstalling PrayerPoint will remove all data stored in `UserDefaults`.

### b. iCloud

- **Purpose**: PrayerPoint uses Apple’s iCloud service to sync prayer points and settings (e.g., speech rate, preferred language, and voice preferences) across devices signed into the same Apple ID.

- **Data Synced**: Prayer points (text and associated IDs), speech rate, preferred language, preferred voice identifier, and checkbox states for prayer lists.

- **Encryption**: Data synced via iCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple, following Apple’s security standards. We do not have access to this data.

- **Control**: You can disable iCloud sync for PrayerPoint at any time through your device’s iCloud settings. Disabling sync will limit data to the local device only.

- **Retention**: iCloud data persists until you delete it via the App, disable iCloud sync, or remove the associated Apple ID from your devices.

### c. No Server Storage

- PrayerPoint does not store any user data on servers controlled by EXAQ Services LLC or third parties (except as managed by Apple’s iCloud service, as described above).

---

## 3. No Sharing Features

PrayerPoint does not offer features to share prayer points with others. All data entered into the App remains stored locally on your device or synced via iCloud, as described in Section 2.

---

## 4. Permissions

PrayerPoint requires certain permissions to function. These permissions are requested only when necessary, and we use them solely to provide the App’s features:

- **Microphone (Optional)**: If you choose to use the speech-to-text feature, PrayerPoint requests microphone access to transcribe your voice into text. Audio data is processed locally on your device using Apple’s Speech framework and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

- **Speech Recognition (Optional)**: If you use the speech-to-text feature, PrayerPoint uses Apple’s Speech Recognition API to convert speech to text locally. No audio or transcribed data is sent to our servers.

- **iCloud (Optional)**: If you enable iCloud sync, PrayerPoint accesses iCloud to sync your prayer points and settings across devices. You can disable this in your device settings.

- **Audio Playback (Optional)**: If you use the text-to-speech feature, PrayerPoint uses Apple’s AVSpeechSynthesizer to read prayer points aloud. This occurs locally, and no data is transmitted.

You can manage these permissions in your device’s Settings app. Denying permissions may limit certain features but will not affect the core functionality of the App.

---

## 5. Third-Party Services

PrayerPoint relies on Apple’s native services for its functionality, including:

- **iCloud**: For syncing data across devices (see Section 2.b).

- **Speech Framework**: For speech-to-text transcription (see Section 4).

- **AVSpeechSynthesizer**: For text-to-speech playback (see Section 4).

These services are provided by Apple and are subject to [Apple’s Privacy Policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). We do not integrate any other third-party services, analytics tools, or advertising networks into PrayerPoint.

---

## 6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data stored on your device:

- **Local Storage**: Data stored in `UserDefaults` is secured by Apple’s iOS security features, including sandboxing and device encryption.

- **iCloud**: Data synced via iCloud is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest.

- **No External Transmission**: Since PrayerPoint does not transmit data to our servers or third parties (except via iCloud), there is no risk of interception by EXAQ Services LLC.

However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device and Apple ID to prevent unauthorized access to your PrayerPoint data.

---
